Be Encouraged – Jan. 30th, 2017

WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FLAKE?  Have you ever thought that?  Maybe someone has forgotten about a meeting with you.  Maybe someone promised they would come support you and never showed.  We’ve all been there.  And dare I say, we’ve all been a flake at some point.  It is such an awful feeling when you know you have to do something or be somewhere and don’t remember until it’s too late.  There is nothing good about getting that call or text and being asked where you’re at?  We all let each other down.  That’s not an excuse, it’s just a fact.   Proverbs 20:6 says, “Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?  And with that little dose of truth you might be wondering why this message is in a blog called “Be Encouraged.”  Well, with all the lack of faithfulness we offer to each other it is always encouraging to remember the faithfulness of our God.  He faithfully sustains this universe.  He faithfully sustains our breadth.  He faithfully leans towards the humble, willing and wanting to hear their prayers.  He faithfully loves us through the eternal provision of grace (Jesus Christ) for all who are willing to grab onto and enjoy.  He is faithfully working within believers, even when they don’t want it, feel it, or see it, to conform them into the image of Christ.  He has never broken a promise.  He has never missed a meeting.  He’s always been on time.  He’s always wanted and worked for our best.  Who can find a faithful man?  Today, we all can, in the one and only true triune God of the Universe, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Today, dwell on God’s faithfulness and be encouraged by his abundant grace, and love.
