If you are a Christian, you are under attack. Satan, demons, the pagan world, and your sinful flesh are incessantly out to deceive and destroy you. To make matters worse, the size of a Christian's spiritual muscles are smaller than a scrawny toddler’s. But despite the Christian’s personal pathetic weakness, they have access to unparalleled power.
King David understood this. In Psalm 6:8-9 King David said to all who were against him, “Depart from me, all you workers of evil.” Then he told his enemies why they must depart.
“For the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD accepts my plea. All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.”
King David understood that he was a weakling, but that the LORD was able to put all his enemies to “shame in a moment.” So through prayer, King David accessed the LORD and stood undefeatable before his enemies.
Today, if you are trying to face Satan, demons, the pagan world, and your sinful flesh in and of your own strength, you are playing the fool. Your personal strength level for spiritual battle is zero. You will fail and fail miserably. But when you access your mighty God in prayer, you are accessing unparalleled power. Today, be wise. Get on your knees and pray, pray, pray without ceasing.
