Apologetics
*This class is required for CO-OP participation
Lead Teachers: Pastor John Wright & Kurt Kowalk
Required Curriculum Purchase: "Manual of Christian Doctrine, Second Edition"
This apologetics class led by our pastor and one of our elders, is designed to help students build a strong, thoughtful foundation in the Christian faith while learning how to clearly and confidently explain what they believe.
Using Manual of Christian Doctrine by Louis Berkhof as the primary curriculum, students will work through key biblical doctrines in a structured and accessible way. Topics will include the nature of God, the authority of Scripture, sin and salvation, and the life of the church. Each lesson will aim to connect theological truth with real-life understanding, helping students see how sound doctrine shapes everyday faith and decision-making.
Yearbook & Design
Required Curriculum Purchase: "The Non-Designer's Design Book"
In this hands-on, project-based class, students will learn the fundamentals of graphic design, photography, and journalism while working collaboratively to create a professionally designed yearbook for our co-op.
Students will develop practical skills such as layout design, typography, photo composition, editing, interviewing, and writing. Throughout the year, they will document co-op events, capture meaningful moments, and craft stories that reflect our community and values.
This class emphasizes both technical skill and creative expression, while also teaching responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail as students contribute to a real, published product.
By the end of the year, students will have helped produce a completed yearbook available for purchase, giving families a lasting keepsake and students a tangible result of their work.
