Showing Up

WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FLAKE?  Have you ever thought that?  Maybe someone has forgotten to meet you.  Maybe someone promised they would come support you and never showed.  Maybe you’ve been that person.  It is such an awful feeling when you know you have to do something or be somewhere and don’t remember until it’s too late.  There is nothing good about getting that call or text that says, “Where are you at?”  We all let each other down.  That’s not an excuse, it’s just a fact.   Proverbs 20:6 says, “Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?  And with that little dose of disappointing truth you might be wondering why this message is in a blog called “Be Encouraged.”  Well, with all the lack of faithfulness we offer to each other, it is always encouraging to remember the faithfulness of God.  Numbers 23:19  says “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?  God faithfully sustains this universe (Hebrews 1:3).  He faithfully leans in the hear the prayers of those who trust in Him (John 9:31).  Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:31-39)  He is faithfully working within believers, even when they don’t want it, feel it, or see it, to conform them into the image of Christ (Ephesians 2:10).  He never has and never will break or forget a promise (Psalm 89:34, 2 Timothy 2:13).  He has never missed a meeting, has always been on time, and always does the best.
Right now millions, if not billions are wondering if God is a flake.  They’re wondering whether or not He’s going to show up for this coronavirus pandemic and do what He promised.  They are wondering whether or not He is going to work it all together for good for the believers like he promised in Romans 8:28. God’s Word says, “Yes!”  And God’s Word is always true.  Be encourage.  God is at work and He will work it all together for good for the believer.  By the power of the Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ, give God praise for His faithfulness!
