The source of strength and encouragement

What is your “go to place?”  You know that place where you can blow off steam, think clearly, or just slow down, breadth and take in the joy of life.

For some its taking a walk or a trip to the gym or a vacation spot.  For others, it’s a great read or a favorite TV show.  And still, for others it might not be a place but a person that they trust and will listen.  These are all great “go to places.” I often find myself going to the gym to think or calling up a close friend.

But there is one “go to place” that is better than all the rest.  It is a place/person in which that weight on your shoulders that is driving you down into the ground can be taken off and you can finally experience real rest.  It is a place/person that will revive your drive because in it your focus on what is truly important will be sharpened.  It’s a strong tower in which the cares of this world and the ridicule of men are exposed for what they are, temporary vanities.

What is this “go to place?”  It is our Lord.  Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the LORD is a Strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.”  And to that last line one may look at themselves and say, “I am not righteous.”   Well the truth is, none of us are on our own.  We all covet and lie.  We all lust and display pride.  We all are selfish.  But praise God!  He has sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to make us righteous if we believe in who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for us.

So if you are a believer today, be encouraged!  You have the best “go to place” there is in the universe!  You have Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us!  Go to Him today and experience the grace, mercy, and encouragement you need!
