Need Refreshment?

Passage: Proverbs 3:7-8

At Man Camp we did a polar plunge into the icy lake and it was freezing.  But wow, it zapped the tired right out of me.   For a few hours I felt so refreshed.  In Proverbs 3:8 it says, “It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones,” and its not talking about a polar plunge.  It’s talking about something stronger, deeper, longer lasting, and more refreshing than any physical shock to the system.  What is it?  Proverbs 3:7 tells us, “Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD and turn away from evil.” When we finally turn from striving on our own and bend the knee to our creator what happens?  CHANGE.  We are infused with His grace and power and enabled to turn away from the evil that zaps our strength, destroys our joy, and makes our bones tired.  As Isaiah 40:29-31 says, “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength, but those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.  Do you want strong, deep, long lasting refreshment?  Bend you knees to the Almighty Creator and be refreshed!
